It was a long time ago since I shot film.
Then again it’s almost a year since I saw Steve as well.

Coming to a different country for ten years, to study, to work, to live in general, isn’t all lattes and Instagrams. It requires certain sacrifices.
So it’s rare to have someone you’ve known from high school to be in the same city.

Steve played that role of ‘someone’.

Sure we didn’t really catch up regularly, but it’s comforting to know that some part of you were here.
And if you bumped into each other on the streets, it’s no big deal.
It’s just like home. Just like before.

Last year, Steve resigned from his architecture firm, and went home, with his fiancée.

They came back recently to fix up loose ends.
As fake tourists.
Doing day trips that we’ve never even bothered before.
Buying souvenirs.
Pre-wedding sessions.

It is bitter sweet.
But at the same time, reassuring.
Knowing that the next time we meet, it’s no big deal.
Just like before.
I guess, this is simply adulthood?

These shots were taken with a Leica M6, 50mm Summicron on Fuji 400H.
