Travelling is different as a parent.

Instead of slow and narrow like a sniper, we went fast and wide, like a machine gun.
All for the sake of exposure.

Without Hana, I’d never have thought of ferrying to the zoo.

Or wetting my feet at the darling harbour.

Chasing seagulls.

Riding the bus.

Taking away crab noodles during her nap time.

Renting a car to Centennial Park.

Even when things went pear-shaped, we adapted, we moved on.

Without Hana, I’d probably be sipping coffee somewhere, complaining about how unMelbourne Sydney is.

With Hana, we didn’t have time to ponder.

Our trip to Sydney became instantaneous and simple-minded.

We managed to live in the moments.
